Stitchin & Bitchin

“Stitchin & Bitchin” explores continuations and subversions of craft tradition. As Juniors, this class has begun to integrate the technical skills they have learned in the early years of the Fiber program with their personal artistic visions and goals. These works mark the transition as they delve into inquiries with creative abandon, pushing through the pain of pricked fingers and hunched shoulders. Fiber is a broad field, and this inherent diversity is delineated in the variety of media explored by each artist. From scientific investigations of material to synthesizing fiber with other media, the works use technologies new and old to reconcile the relationship between well-established practices as they adapt to the contemporary art space.

April 18 - April 27, 2025. Opening Reception: Friday, April 18, 4 - 7 pm. 4218 Walnut St. KC, MO 64111.
