Krokbragd
"Krokbragd" is an invitation to the KCAI Fiber Junior class community, opening April 17th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fiber Warehouse. Directly translating to “crooked path” in the original Norwegian, Krokbragd, colloquially known as crockpot, is a weave structure emblematic of the junior class’s attitude as artists and community members. A variety of students’ works will be shown, including weaving, quilts, basketry, and knit pieces. Though they work side by side every day, they create vastly different pieces. They are informed by the processes they’ve learned over the course of their time in the Fiber Department, their individual walks through life, and from one another. The students’ crooked paths converge at this show, where their work and selves become a stone soup of perspectives. We hope to see you at the opening, or at a viewing appointment made by request to khendricks@students.kcai.edu before the show’s closing on the 29th of April. Further details and highlights of student work can be found on Instagram at @kcaifiber.
